Frequently Asked Questions
No. We use the correct pressure setting for every surface type. Concrete gets high pressure, while timber and painted surfaces receive lower, appropriate pressure.
Yes. We apply a degreasing pre-treatment to oil stains before pressure cleaning for the best possible result.
Yes. We use lower pressure settings specifically calibrated for timber to clean effectively without raising the grain or causing damage.
Concrete typically dries within a few hours depending on weather. Timber may take slightly longer. We'll advise on drying times for your specific surfaces.

The surfaces we will not pressure wash
Most of the damage we get called to repair was done by someone pressure washing something that should never have been pressure washed.
Pressure washing runs between 1,500 and 4,000 PSI. That is right for concrete, exposed aggregate and paving. It is completely wrong for masonry: at that pressure water erodes the mortar joints out from between bricks, and once the mortar is gone the repair costs many times what the clean did.
So on those surfaces we soft wash instead โ under 500 PSI, about the pressure of a garden hose, with a diluted sodium hypochlorite solution and a non-ionic surfactant doing the work instead of force. It kills the growth at the root rather than blasting the surface off it.
Brick & mortar
Soft wash only. High pressure erodes mortar joints.
Heritage masonry & lime mortar
Soft wash only. Never pressure, at any setting.
Rendered & painted walls
Soft wash. Pressure strips the finish and drives water in.
Sandstone & bluestone
Pressure wash at reduced PSI with a wide fan tip.
Concrete & aggregate
Full pressure is correct here. This is what it is for.
Not sure?
The safe default is always soft wash. You cannot undo erosion.
If you ask us to pressure clean something that will be damaged by it, we will tell you, and quote the method that will not wreck it.
